No I don't think you need it but I brought mine just in case they never asked me for mine there's no sense in going down there and then finding out you need it usually your pistol permit is good enough

My son got his notice the other day he told me that the letter says to send a passport photo and copy of your birth certificate but that's if you mail it in ,I think when you go in person it's just your permit .
I would think John would know , what's your input on this John??

Unless things have changed in the past two years (since Apr 2016, at least), just turn in old permit, pay and be done. It took about 5 minutes at Montville (I-395N).
