If you are anywhere near Marlborough check out the Jeremy River in Black Ledge. Good Trout fishing and sand bottom so no snagging.

I've seen a few dark Mayflies out and about.
Not that that helps any...
Years back, I got a roughly 4 pound Crappie on a yellow maribou streamer at the public boat launch at Highland Lake. Early Spring before the weeds get too heavy.
Smallmouth at the Farmington River where Cherry brook dumps in.
